New Stationary Infantry Target (SIT) Showcased at I/ITSEC 2022
(ORLANDO, FL) – November 25, 2022 – Phoenix Defense unveils the first Stationary Infantry Target (SIT) fully compliant with the new US Army build-to-print requirements in preparation for the upcoming Live Training, Ranges, and Combat Training Centers (LTRaC) contract. Phoenix Defense will showcase this new target at The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference 2022 (I/ITSEC), the world’s largest modeling, simulation, and training event.
The creation of build-to-print targets for the US Army represents a new change in Army targetry procurement strategy. “The construction and procurement of these new targets will allow the Army more flexibility in target maintenance and less dependency on individual vendors. We are proud to be one of the first industry partners to produce a fully functioning SIT from early design materials released by the Army and look forward to a long future creating live fire presentation devices to support our Warfighters,” said Phoenix Defense CTO and SkunkApe Works Director, Barry Clinger.
The construction of the new SIT is the combined works of Phoenix Defense’s manufacturing division located in Gilbert, AZ and our newly created internal innovation laboratory in Orlando, Florida (SkunkApe Works), led by Barry Clinger.
