Phoenix Logistics, Inc. Names Al Funderburk as Chief Executive Officer
Former Senior Vice President and Operations Manager, SAIC – Simulation & Training Solutions Operation; Surveillance & Reconnaissance Group to Focus on Expanding Phoenix Logistics’ Product and Service Offerings in the Defense and Aerospace Market.
TEMPE, AZ — August 5th, 2013 — Phoenix Logistics, Inc., a leading provider of integrated data transmission and avionics interconnect solutions for the defense and aerospace market, today announced that Al Funderburk has joined the company as its new CEO. Al Funderburk replaces Founder and current CEO, Ray Bellefeuille, who will remain as Chairman of the Board.
Al Funderburk has served in multiple leadership and staff assignments over the past 23 years. As a former military officer he commanded combat aviation units at various levels as well as acting in numerous staff positions. Al transitioned to industry in 2001 to take over the Comanche Helicopter’s Operational Test instrumentation program and has progressed through the industry ranks from project engineer to Senior Vice President and General Manager of a $200M, multi-divisional operation for Science Applications International Corporation, Inc (SAIC).
Al’s military background, coupled with aerospace and engineering industry experience fits well within our existing culture but also provides a lever to the future. Al is providing key vision and direction regarding the growth path of Phoenix Logistics, Inc. He recently noted “We will take PLI’s proven capabilities far beyond our customary aerospace component market. We have the culture, talent, processes and infrastructure to positively affect multiple growth domains, including simulation and training, system testing, energy, high performance computing and others. I am very excited about our future”.

Al will focus on leveraging Phoenix Logistics’ current positions and applying Phoenix Logistics’ operational strengths in the design and manufacture of high frequency components to systems and sub-systems level opportunities.
Al’s dedication to and active involvement in the community and in charitable causes such as the Association of the United States Army (member, Board of Governors, Central Florida Chapter), Army Aviation Association of America and The Navy League, as well as the Seminole County Kids’ House (a non-profit organization chartered for protection of abused children) fit well with the culture of Phoenix Logistics and its commitment to community involvement.
