PLI Appointed to Plex Customer Advisory Board
In late 2007 Phoenix Logistics began implementing a new ERP/MRP system called Plex online, an SaaS (software as a service) solution. The implementation, unlike many ERP system implementations, progressed rapidly with the first modules going live within 3 months and the full system going live within 9 months from start to finish. The system enabled a 25% increase in efficiency of our Mil-STD-1553 production line processes, a 31% reduction in our time to market for our RF and Space product development efforts and attaining an impressive 4 Sigma quality level across all product lines.
Additionally, Phoenix Logistics’ initiative to totally replace stand-alone manual and paper-based work processes with automated electronic workflows, resulted in recognition as one of 2010’s 100 best “Progressive Manufacturers” by Managing Automation and achieving the coveted title of “High Achiever Award for Data and Integration Mastery.”
Phoenix Logistics’ advocacy of the system has been strong since the very beginning and we have highlighted the opportunities within the Aerospace and Defense market that Plex can fill with a few minor enhancements. Plex provides integrated Enterprise Resource Planning, Quality Management Systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Supply Chain Management and Customer Relationship Management via a web browser, making it an ideal platform to meet the challenges faced by today’s aerospace manufacturing companies.
As a result of the leadership role Phoenix Logistics has played in promoting and enhancing the strength of the system; Chief Operating Officer Ben Sommerville has been appointed to Plex Online’s Customer Advisory Board.
The Customer Advisory Board is a select group of Plex customers whose input is sought for strategic planning purposes on an on-going basis. The Board is a crucial source of insights about customer issues and concerns, product development needs and service requirements. Members have the opportunity to influence decision-making at the highest levels of Plex management and to experience meaningful interaction with colleagues.
Being a member of the Advisory Board is another way that Phoenix Logistics is continually evolving to meet the changing market demands; not reacting, but leading the change with our Customers, Associates and Suppliers.
